A Large tract of prime coastal land, near Nelson Mandela Bay, is expected to be sold for between R12-million and R15-million when it goes under the auctioneer‘s hammer next month.
Ocean View Holiday Resort owner John Webb said he was about to retire and the 22-hectare resort was being sold.
He recalled how he had bought it in 1984 and how the resort got its name “because from the hill one has a magnificent ocean view stretching as far as Jeffreys Bay”.
Webb said it had taken some years for himself and a few staff members to cut bush, plant grass and erect a few buildings.
“We are now getting a bit too old for this kind of game and would like to spend our last few years being kind to ourselves for a change,” he said.
The resort will be auctioned on February 21. Auctioneer John Keevy said interest had been received from both local and out-of-town buyers, but it was still too early to predict what interest would be like on the day of the auction.
He did, however, expect “a solid demand”.
Webb said the main attraction of the resort was that it offered peace and tranquility in the heart of nature.
There is also an adult swimming pool, a toddlers pool and a recreation hall.
