MADISON Leasing has signed up over 55000m² of new commercial property leases in the past six months and boosted the rental income of its property loan stock company clients, ApexHi Properties and Redefine Income Fund.

Madison Leasing director Darren Wilder says both the Johannesburg and Cape Town leasing teams did well.

“The Johannesburg team has achieved over 35000m² of commercial leasing since May.”

Some of the big deals in Gauteng include 4130m² of space for courier company DHL at Wingfield Park in Jet Park on the East Rand, and 8500m² for Builders Warehouse on a 12-year lease in Kempton Retail, Kempton Park.

Typical leases are being signed for three years, says Wilder.

In Cape Town, the leasing team have let more than 25000m² of space since May.

The larger deals in Western Cape are in new developments such as a 1780m² deal with DHL and 520m² for Woodford Car Rentals, both at CTX Business Park near Cape Town International Airport.

Madison has also concluded deals with Automagic, which has leased 600m², and Klein Valley Wines, which has leased 420m² in Bergriver Business Park in Paarl.
