The grand prix of shopping centre marketing awards, the coveted Spectrum Award, was bestowed on Marketing Concepts and its client Sandton City, for presenting the single most excellent, innovative and creative marketing promotion for a shopping centre in South Africa.
If this wasn’t enough to stake its claim on the spotlight, Marketing Concepts was declared the runner-up for the Spectrum Shopping Centre Marketing Award for its marketing of Canal Walk Shopping Centre.
Marketing Concepts was also awarded two gold and one silver Footprint Marketing Awards for Canal Walk entries, while its Sandton City submission also earned a Gold Footprint Marketing Award. In total, Marketing Concepts earned itself a whole table-setting of silverware -- the prized Spectrum Award, three gold and a silver Footprint.

The gold Footprint Marketing Awards, which are presented to recognise innovation and creativity in shopping centre marketing, were presented to Sandton City for the spectacularly successful 94.7 Radiothon and to Canal Walk for the outstanding events, High School Musical and Futbal Feva. Canal Walk also earned a silver Footprint Market Award for its brand campaign.
