Sable Square, the outlet retail fashion village near Century City, Cape Town, has secured major tenants for its 10100m2 second-phase development.
Redefine Income Fund, the owner of the centre, says Mr Price Sport will open with a 2200m2 store before the end of the year.
The retailer will be joined by a 1500m2 Toy Zone and a 1000m2 Baby City.
The initial 12400m2 of retail space at Sable Square was recently increased by 2800m2 with the opening of the Spur Steak Ranch and The Zone Gym.
The shopping centre will almost double in size with the addition of the 10100m2 second phase, bringing the centre's total size to more than 25000m2 of gross lettable area.
Redefine is investing R120 million for the second-phase development , which is managed and leased by Madison Property Fund Managers.
"Whilst investigating outlet malls in Europe we found many were surrounded by or linked to big-box value stores.
"The inclusion of these value stores in Sable Square does not indicate a move away from the outlet shopping concept, it merely complements it," says Redefine CEO Brian Azizollahoff.
