Boom Town Advertising last week signed a multi-million rand Coega communications contract

Property-Housing-ResidentialPort Elizabeth-based Boom Town Advertising last week signed a multi-million rand Coega communications contract, the biggest the agency has landed to date.

Boom Town, together with its joint venture partners, formally signed the R15-million agreement on Friday. The contract duration is two years.

The coveted account is one of the largest in the Eastern Cape and the biggest won by Boom Town Advertising in its 14-year history.

“It is a great honour to be associated with such an instrumental project,” said Boom Town director Luvuyo Bangazi.

“Coega seeks to encapsulate a new value proposition driven by the investment promotion imperative, bringing it in line with the developments that have taken place since the Coega brand was developed six years ago,” Bangazi said.

“It is a great honour to have been entrusted with the responsibility to take Coega‘s communications to a new dimension, aligned to its investment promotions activities.

"We aim to inject a fresh approach in all its advertising and communication activities,” Bangazi said.

The Boom Town Joint Venture, made up of Boom Town Advertising and leading national communications and media strategy partners, will be responsible for the full spectrum of Coega‘s communication needs.

These range from account management, strategic marketing services, media and public relations and above and below the line advertising to events, publications, exhibitions and web management.

The comprehensive pitch process involved two in-depth pitches over a period of a year, both of which the Boom Town JV took top honours.

“The first pitch focused on a creative campaign while the second was more strategic based,” Coega communications manager Vuyelwa Qinga-Vika said.
