In so doing, JHI strengthens relationship with JSE and NSX-listed Vukile Property Fund

Property services group, JHI’s subsidiary in Namibia, Gensec Namibia, has been awarded the property management contract for Vukile Property Fund’s extensively refurbished landmark A-grade office and retail complex, BPI House in Windhoek’s CBD.

This brings JHI’s Namibian property management portfolio to 16 buildings spread across five property owners, of which Vukile Property Fund is the single largest client.

Gensec Namibia portfolio executive, Monica Pienaar, advises that JHI now manages some 63 000m² of gross lettable office and retail space on behalf of Vukile Property Fund, encompassing eight buildings and 190 tenants.

The largest management contract, measured in terms of lettable floor area,  covers the 21 592m² Oshakati Game Shopping Centre, followed by the new BPI House (at 12 826m²).

BPI House has a blue-chip tenant line-up, which includes the government of Namibia, Pick ‘n Pay, Truworths, Dunns, Engen, the Mobile Telecom Company and Ernst & Young.

Vukile Property Fund’s Namibian property portfolio now amounts to some N$360 million. The scale of Vukile Property Fund’s investment in Namibia demonstrates the Fund’s confidence in the Namibia economy and, coupled with its listing on the Namibia Stock Exchange, confirms its intention to expand its Namibian property investments.

JHI has long had a base of operations in Namibia.  Its vision today is to be the prime property partner in Africa and further afield.

“We take a holistic view on any property or property portfolio,” comments JHI CEO Marna van der Walt.  “We have a powerful range of tools at our disposal in order to participate in the management, strategy and execution of any owner’s property needs. Our skills base, technology platform and entrepreneurial spirit will support our clients’ business throughout sub-Saharan Africa.”
