And it is also expected that major developments involving Singapore, which is likely to be represented by senior figures in its government, and Coega could be on the cards, although details are still being finalised.
The trade mission is being co-ordinated by the Port Elizabeth Chamber of Commerce and Industry, while other aspects are being arranged through the Nelson Mandela Bay municipality.
Municipal spokesman Lourens Schoeman confirmed on Monday that a high-level delegation was expected next week and that details of those visiting the metro, how long they would be in the region, and their programme would be finalised within the next 24 hours.
Meanwhile, Percci operations manager Wendy Lester said that a top-level business delegation from Singapore would be visiting the city on Monday.
"They wish to meet senior local executives on an individual basis," Lester said.
South African trade with Singapore is in the region of R5-billion a year, according to customs and excise department figures for 2005. The split is 50-50 between exports and imports.
Lester said businesses in which the delegation members were particularly interested included real estate, the chemical industry and the pharmaceutical field.
One company was particularly interested in finding seafood suppliers and customers, while another was looking at luxury leather goods and accessories, together with shoes and fashion wear.
Lester said a total of 18 different enterprises were represented in the delegation which is also visiting other parts of the country.
