Construction group Group Five has announced the appointment of its current CFO, Paul O'Flaherty, as the group's new deputy CEO with effect from 31 March 2007.
He will support the group's growth strategy alongside Mike Upton, who takes over as CEO when Mike Lomas retires.
O'Flaherty's appointment reflects his expanded role which contributed to the group's success over the last few years and serves to further strengthen Group Five's executive management team as the group moves into a period of increased activity.
O'Flaherty has been the CFO since 2003 and has focused on driving the financial and efficiency initiatives of the group. He has a Bcom, Bacc and is a Chartered Accountant. He was previously an audit partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he headed the Energy and Mining team.
A replacement group Financial Director will be sought over the next few months, who will report directly to O'Flaherty.
