A prime retail opportunity in Harrismith will come under Auction Alliance's gavel as part of the next Renaissance multiple auction in Johannesburg.

Shoprite Checkers, whose lease runs until October 31 2008, anchors the property.

"The main feature is the strong quality of the line shops being African Bank, Pepkor and Ellerines," says Mark Kleynhans of Auction Alliance.

The gross lettable area is 4849m², which is built on a 9637m² erf, affording customers an abundance of on site parking. There is 1087m² vacant land, which has the potential to boost current income.

"There has been considerable interest shown across the country in the retail sector, especially for smaller well-let retail centres," says Kleynhans.

Other buildings to come under the hammer at the auction include one in Randburg and one in Eastgate Extension. Both buildings are suitable for sectional title offices.

Number 41 West Street, Houghton, is one of the last properties along the M1 available for a company seeking offices offering exposure and that are easily accessible from the Rivera Road off ramp.

"There is a lease in place which is coming to an end in November 2006 and the highest bidder will enjoy rental income of R120 000 a month until the end of this lease," says Norman Raad of Auction Alliance.

The action takes place on May 10 at 11am at The Hyatt Hotel in Rosebank.
