Real estate group Chas Everitt International says it has secured a permanent exhibition space at the Absa International Trade Bureau at Johannesburg International Airport.
The group says it has taken the initiative to extend this exposure to residential property. It is the only local property group to date to secure permanent exhibition space in the bureau.
Chas Everitt Franchising CEO Barry Davies says the market exposure of South African products and services will be greatly enhanced when the bureau opens its doors next year. The bureau expects to draw thousands of foreign and business travellers a month.
"Last year a total of about 15-million travellers, of which an estimated 1,2-million were on business, passed through the airport," says Davies.
The trade bureau will provide a "shop window" to these travellers and will broaden the market exposure the group is able to offer property sellers, he says.
The multimillion rand bureau will be located close to the airport's international arrivals terminal and is expected to be completed by February next year.
Facilities will include permanent exhibition stands, a library and information desk, refreshment areas, meeting rooms and offices. The bureau is also within walking distance of the Airport Sun, where additional conference facilities are available.
The bureau is a partnership between the Airports Company of SA, the National African Federated Chambers, Industry Gauteng and the International Trade Bureau.
