(Cape Town, 19 October 2005) The appointment of retail property specialist Maurice Mdlolo as an executive director to the main board of Broll Property Group is a significant step in bolstering the Company’s skills offering, says executive chairman Jonathan Broll.

‘Maurice brings over 14 year’s experience – most recently as managing director of Motseng Marriott – to his new position as MD of our retail management division,’ adds Broll. ‘His thorough understanding of retail dynamics and, in fact, all aspects of the property industry will bring tremendous value to the Group.’

A UNISA economics graduate, Mdlolo spent seven years with Caltex sourcing sites for retail service stations in KwaZulu Natal before spending five years in Cape Town with Eskom Properties and Woolworths.

‘I see myself as a hands-on player and am looking forward to working with the Broll team,’ says Mdlolo. ‘The Company is well established in the industry and has a 30-year track record. I believe that I bring specific skills which will add value to the service offering to existing and new clients.

‘I have known Jonathan Broll and Alan Wallace for many years – since my time at Woolworths – and was always impressed with how the Company has taken a leadership role in the industry under their direction. According to Broll, Mdlolo’s decision to join the company comes at a significant time. ‘From a business perspective the industry is in great shape.
