A NEW R103m shopping centre called Attlyn is being developed in Atteridgeville, Tshwane, by Safari Investments.

The centre is located in an area known as Kalafong Heights with two main access points from Khosa Street, the link road between Maunde and Church streets, which are the two main arteries from Pretoria’s central business district to Atteridgeville.

The 22000m² centre is expected to open at the end of October next year and will provide parking for 840 cars and include a taxi rank.

The group says it has developed six shopping centres and is planning a similar-sized shopping centre in Sebokeng.

Ackermans, Dunns, Pep Stores, Shoe City, Woolworths, Mr Price, Power Sales, Express Stores and Jet Stores are among the fashion retailers taking space in the new centre. Furniture retailers include Price & Pride, Electric Express, Morkels, OK Furniture, Ellerines, Lewis and Best Electric. Several financial services companies include African Bank, Capitec Bank, First National Bank, Nedbank, Absa, as well as the Post Office.

Safari says it will involve sub-contractors and workers from the local community during the development of the centre and will also encourage the tenants to do the same with permanent employment.
