Florida Road landmark, Hollis House, has been completely renovated and restored as the new home of Society, a stylish restaurant bar-lounge for the fashionable set.

JHI Real Estate broker, Michele Lamb who successfully negotiated the lease said that, "it is an unusual space for a funky venue but it is ideal for the up-market image of Society."

Unlike any other venue to be found in Durban, Society features iconic décor that would be cutting edge even in London with a very eclectic mix of colours, furniture, fittings and lighting.

The winner in this transformation is Hollis House, which has a rather colourful and usual history. Built over 70 years ago as a home, the grand property has housed a number of different commercial entities since then. These include a computer training college and the St Geran restaurant, which came to an end when the second floor was completely destroyed by an electrical fire.

Now it is fully restored to its former beauty and features new flooring, ceilings and top quality interior and exterior finishes.
