Tongaat-Hulett subsidiary Hulett Aluminium continues to compete with the best in the aluminium industry by being chosen to supply roofing material for the Olympic Velodrome in Athens.

Situated in the heart of Athens, the velodrome hosts the indoor track cycling competition at this months Olympics.

The complex is clad with a Hulett Aluminium-branded roofing sheet product supplied through one of the company's German customers.

This state-of-the-art roof covers more than 20,000m², is moveable and spans over 145m.

Designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, it encompasses 53,400m² of land and hosts thousands of spectators.

"We are proud to be associated with this major Olympic stadium (contributing) to some of the world's most significant contemporary construction projects," said Hulett Aluminium's coated products director, Richard Jacob.
