A R200m golf estate is being launched on the Vaal River by codevelopers Barry Sneech of Sneech Property Group and Rob Hulme, former IT sector entrepreneur.
The developers say the estate has a combination of both river and golf course views for all 71 of the homes, which are situated on 0,5km of north-facing river frontage, downstream from Millionaires Bend on the Vaal River.
The developers say Waterford Golf and River Estate, on the last 25ha of undeveloped land zoned for the area on the Free State side, is a "new generation" golf estate with a short game, classic par 3 golf course and home designs by Cape Town architect Arthur Quinton.
They say demand for Vaal riverfront property is enjoying a strong upsurge with prices.
The first sales have been completed, with servicing beginning in July and freehold transfers due by December-January. Entry level prices are in the R600000s. Buyers can build three- to five-bedroomed homes on unwalled, freehold stands of 600m² to 1300m².
