ALL 40 units in Asrin's new Prosperity Business Park at Ratanga/Milnerton were sold out within two hours of the launch function being opened, says the developer.
"It was a little breathtaking - and our only regret is that we did not have more units to sell," said Shiraz Onia, Asrin's marketing director.
"We have just over 15 potential buyers waiting to see if any of the deals fall through or if any of the initial buyers are willing to on sell."
The success of the launch, said Onia, bears witness to the growing realisation that the Ratanga/Montague Gardens/Marconi Beam area has become the prime industrial land of the Western Cape, fetching prices that only two years ago would have seemed impossible. However, he added, Asrin's price range, from R355 000 to R365 000 for units varying in size from 85 to 100m2 was highly competitive by any standards and could only be achieved because the design by Paul Judd is simple and economical.
It is, he commented, very similar to that of the highly successful BOE business project, Centurion Park, designed by the same architect.
The designs, he said, make extensive use of maintenance free calcium silicate brick facades, attractive straight-line gables and pleasing plaster door and window surrounds. "The design is simple, economical but highly effective," he said.
"The designs give a new, better look to the rather dull facades seen on most of the industrial complexes and the appeal of the units is greatly enhanced by the fact that there is ample parking within the security estate."
Onia indicated that he perceived demand for this type of industrial/warehousing space in the area remaining strong and if Asrin gets the chance they will, he said, certainly try and go ahead with a follow-up development.
