The City of Johannesburg Property Company (JPC), working on behalf of its client the City of Joburg, said yesterday it is to release 25 ha of prime Fairland real-estate for development, in northern Johannesburg.
Known as the ‘Jerusalem’ site, the property is located at the intersection of Beyers Naudé Drive and the N1 Western Bypass freeway.
The land has been rezoned for medium-density residential use, offices, retail and institutional use such as schools.
JPC said it plans to guide all development on this valuable city site to ensure that development objectives are met and that new developments are compatible with existing property developments.
The land sale is expected to attract significant interest and investment as well as create much needed job opportunities.
The official launch of the property release will take place today, on site.
