Property fund acquires its property portfolio

Property-Housing-ResidentialProperty fund Miccprop, which is to list on the JSE Securities Exchange South Africa (JSE) on Thursday and the Namibian Stock Exchange (NSX) on Friday, has announced that Gregory Chalmers has been appointed its chief executive officer.

Chalmers, an attorney, has been working in corporate finance and related activities for the past decade.

Miccprop also said it had acquired its property portfolio, which according to an announcement earlier this month comprises 40 properties broadly split into retail, light industrial and commercial.

In the earlier announcement, Miccprop said that it would focus its resources on identifying opportunities, which would enable it to enhance the income potential of its total portfolio, increase the effectiveness of the portfolio and extract synergies throughout the fund.

Miccprop's promoter is Sanlam Property Asset Management, to which it has outsourced its property management function.
