Robert Broom is one of the main arteries that runs through Krugersdorp in the Westrand, crossing through Noordheuwel, Rangeview and past the Sugarbush Estate.

Residential property in these areas are increasingly in demand as they offer great value both in terms of sectional title and free hold properties and access to good schools and amenities.

Deidre Opperman, an estate agent at Leapfrog Property Group, Roodepoort reveals that; “First time home buyers (with an earning bracket between R19,200 p/m – R25,600p/m) and sellers looking to downsize are snapping up the sectional title properties which start at R600 000. The majority of the sectional title developments in this area are less than 20 years old, with the most recent development being the Sugar Bush Estate which was completed in 2006/7. For the higher income earners (R42,500 p/m – R51,000 p/m) upmarket freehold houses range from R1.5 million upwards”.

The Panorama Estates Retirement Village in Rangeview offers pensioners a comfortable lifestyle within a superbly designed security estate. “Prices currently range from between from R950 000 to R1 19 million depending on whether it’s a two or three bedroom unit which offers great value”, believes Opperman.

“We’ve got really good schools in the area, such as the Curro Secondary School, which was completed in 2013 and includes outstanding sporting facilities with athletic tracks, cricket/rugby fields, and tennis courts. Another Curro High School which is situated nearby the Sugar Bush Estate will be ready to open its doors early in 2017, making this a great area for families”, explains Opperman. Other schools in the vicinity are Roodekrans, Helderkruin and Kenmare Primary. There are many reputable pre-schools in the area, one of which is The Farm Yard just off Robert Broom Drive and a number of other very prestigious high schools such as Krugersdorp High and Noordheuwel Hoër.

The Noordheuwel Shopping Centre conveniently serves the community with retail outlets like Woolworths, Checkers and a number of eateries. The new Valley View shopping centre also opened in November, giving nearby residents access to a Planet Fitness, a Spar, Builders Express and Dis-Chem.

Leisure and Entertainment

Hobby Park is situated opposite the Noordheuwel Shopping Centre. It offers the public, various hobbies such as, 4 x 4 trails, paint ball, hiking, cycling, archery and para-sailing. Every year the Park hosts the very popular “Warrior Race” attracting thousands from far and wide to participate in this two day obstacle fitness race.

“From Noordheuwel through to Range View you’ll find excellent value for money in terms of residential property – whether you’re looking for a smaller sectional title unit, property in a retirement village or a freehold home in which to raise a growing family – with access to all the amenities and quality education – whilst still in driving distance of business hubs like Sandton and Midrand”, says Opperman.
