THE new Ocean Estates International offices in the Clock Tower Building in the V&A Waterfront were officially opened last Friday by Alasdair and Alice Macdonald, co-founders of the company. Alasdair Macdonald, chairman and president of Ocean Estates International, said the company would be releasing some outstanding projects and developments in the Western Cape and Kwazulu-Natal over the next few months. "The Ocean Estates global operation had an impressive E1 billion turnover during the past financial year. We plan to double the turnover figure during next year with the contributions from our South African and other overseas operations," he said. "Alice and I are delighted to able to officially launch our flagship office in Cape Town's beautiful Waterfront. "With a staff compliment of over 30 in this office already, we expect this number to grow as the company expands its position in the market." Brian Staples, managing director South Africa of Ocean Estates, said: "Although we may be the so-called new boys on the block, we have a highly successful formula which has already reaped rewards in the short time we have been operating in South Africa. "The key to our success is two-fold. First, Ocean Estates organises in excess of 300 exhibitions worldwide annually, thus attracting a large number of potential clients. Second, there are two defined client profiles, one being the entrepreneur/investor who is driven by a low risk, high return investment without the delivery of the property; then there is the leisure or residential buyer who wishes to purchase a finished product for their own use with a long-term view of investment and/or rental returns. Ocean Estates develop and manage the collaboration of these two client profiles providing a win-win formula. "The experience we have gained over the past 18 years from Ocean Estates' worldwide operation will be put to good use in South Africa. We have tremendous financial muscle when becoming involved in property developments. This is illustrated in the prime sites we select and especially in the quality of the finished product, thereby ensuring that the investor or buyer is rewarded with an appreciating asset."
