Riverside Shopping Centre in Bryanston is now offering customers even more, with great new retailers and restaurants joining the recently revamped shopping centre, including a much larger Woolworths, which has expanded from 420m2 to 1,650m2 and now offers a deli, bakery, fishmonger, coffee cart and more.

A distinctive feature on Bryanston’s suburban landscape for over 35 years, the popular Riverside Shopping Centre has been redeveloped with a new look and revitalised with a fresh new tenant mix.

Moolman Group, owners of the centre, have expanded its retail offering and added new parking bays, boosting choice and convenience at Riverside Shopping Centre, while keeping its characteristic village atmosphere. Moolman Group is a highly respected property investment enterprise that owns and manages property portfolios across southern Africa, and provides a comprehensive and professional approach to property development.

Sönke Moolman-Pautz, Leasing and Marketing Manager at Moolman Group, comments, “Many of Riverside Shopping Centre’s stores are already firm customer favourites and now the centre will offer shoppers even more great reasons to visit.”

Hello Tomato, brainchild of the founders of Fego and Europa, has now opened at the centre. Conceived in Italy, inspired by New York and born in Joburg, the Hello Tomato menu offers quick quality food, traditionally prepared using the freshest ingredients for its freshly made-to-order pasta and modern Italian thin crust pizza.

An enticing new Thai restaurant, Erawan, has also opened. Erawan is part of the Thai Café Group and offers the authentic taste of Thailand perfected by its master Thai chefs to create a casual elegant dining experience.

The revamped Riverside Shopping Centre now comprises 5,374 m2 of gross lettable retail area, served by 225 parking bays. Riverside Shopping Centre’s lower level stores include Woolworths, Riverside Bottle Store, Riverside Café & Bistro, Chateau Gateaux, Riverside Fruit Market, Granny Goose, Dry Clean City, Riverside Pharmacy, Jacksons Real Food, The Art Gallery, The Secret Room and Gorbany Luxury Carpets.

Its upper level is focused on health and beauty services and products, and is designed to leave shoppers looking and feeling great. Here Giovanni Hair Care and The Make Up Studio have made their home for the past 15 years. Sorbet and Lazerlicious, together with other trendy newcomers, have joined these popular stores. Riverside Shopping Centre’s health and beauty ‘precinct’ is now fully let with medical facility Medifam and Cosmetic Dental Emporium opening before February next year.

The Shell service station on the premises has also been upgraded with a brand new Select store and a Vida-e Caffè.

Riverside Shopping Centre, which is on the corner of Bryanston Drive and Cambridge Road, remains highly visible and accessible to passers-by and shoppers. Soon it will also benefit from even better access. Moolman Group and adjacent property owners are upgrading the existing road infrastructure. A new traffic circle on River Road along with a right in-lane to Cambridge Road has been constructed. This significantly improves the traffic flow along Bryanston Drive.

With Mettle Solar and Solar Power Solutions, Moolman Group is also planning to commence with a 100KWp Solar PV installation on the shopping centre’s roof early in 2016.

JZ Moolman, Development Manager of Moolman Group, comments: “The PV project is in the planning phase and we are optimistic it will be commissioned before mid-2016. We have also installed a back-up generator large enough to power all the tenants at the centre so that trading is never interrupted during load shedding,”

Moolman-Pautz says, “With its contemporary new look and a mix of new stores together with the known and trusted tenants that have been part of the ‘family’ for years, the refurbished Riverside Shopping Centre is sure to continue being an asset to both the community and its owners.”
