Redefine Properties has been ranked sixth in the Top ten positions in the EY's Excellence in Integrated Reporting Awards 2015.

Andrew Konig

Last year, Redefine, the JSE's second largest South African owned property company, featured in the excellent category and received a merit award for the most improved integrated annual report.

The awards, which survey the integrated annual reports of the JSE's Top 100 companies, recognise South African companies excelling in the integrated reporting sphere. The purpose of the survey is to encourage excellence in the quality of integrated reporting to investors and other stakeholders in South Africa's listed company sector. This year, judging was stricter than previous years as all companies had a full period's exposure to the International Integrated Reporting Council framework.

Commenting on the award, Andrew Konig Redefine Properties CEO said: "This achievement demonstrates our continued commitment to ensuring transparent communication to all of our stakeholders.

"The integrated annual report provides us with a one-stop platform to engage with all our stakeholders and to outline our strategic priorities and approach in addressing business, environmental and social challenges and opportunities. The integrated annual report draws the entire business together in showcasing our property asset portfolio and recording achievements and failures in our value creation journey."

Konig paid tribute to his colleagues who provided input into the preparation of the integrated annual report, saying the award was testimony to their skill, professionalism and commitment to continuous improvement.

Redefine's report was singled out as an outstanding example of how a company can tell the story of how it creates value. The property company was also commended for its cohesive and creative report layout. Redefine was one of only 12 companies to move up in the rankings this year.

"Our recognition demonstrates to stakeholders that we are thinking in a manner that will address any concerns about our long-term business sustainability. I am extremely proud of this recognition as it places us among the standout companies in South Africa for integrated reporting and in the company of a number of larger listed companies."concluded Konig.
