Christoffel Nissen

Christoffel Nissen is the Chief Executive Officer of Umoya Fishing Limited. Nissen also serves as Chairman of Boschendal Limited and as Chairman of the South African Maritime Safety Authority.

 

 Andrew Christoffel Nissen, also known as Chris, BA (Hons), MA serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Umoya Fishing (Pty) Limited.

Mr. Nissen's experience lies in facilitating Public Private Partnerships, BEE, Transformation and Business Leadership in the public service sector, his experience lies in business development and trade and investment promotion, building BEE and assisting BEE companies.

He held various positions in the ANC, including Chairman of the Western Cape branch.

Nissen was as a Deputy Speaker of the Provincial Parliament.

He worked for the government of the Western Cape as a Member of the Executive Council for Economic Affairs. He serves as the Independent Non-Executive Chairman at Ascension Properties Limited. He serves as the Chairman of Sea Harvest Corporation Limited, South African Maritime Safety Authority, Namfish (Pty) Limited and Boschendal (Pty) Limited. He has been Independent non-executive chairman of Cape Empowerment Ltd. since April 26, 2010. He served as the Executive Chairman of Vunani Limited until June 19, 2008. He serves as a Director of Inkgqubela Fisheries and Marine Development Corporation, Standard Bank Limited, Golden Arrow Bus Services, Woolworths Holdings Limited and The Standard Bank of South Africa Limited. He served as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Tiger Brands Ltd. (formerly, Tiger Oats Ltd.) since May 18, 2000. He served as a Director of Vunani Limited until June 19, 2008. He served as a Non-Executive Director of JCI Ltd., since December 13, 2006 until July 31, 2011. He served as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Randgold and Exploration Co. Ltd., since July 24, 2003. He served as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Randgold Resources Limited. He was awarded the Professional Management Review Golden Arrow Award for the Best Political Personality in 1998.

Nissen holds a BA (Hons), a Master of Arts in Humanities from the University of Cape Town, and a Diploma in Theology from the Federal Theological Seminary in Pietermaritzburg
