Women’s Property Network celebrating excellence in 2013

The WPN Gauteng Region held the annual dinner to celebrate Women in the Property industry who have excelled in their respective fields in 2013

Fundiswa Mazibuko, Lee-Anne Bac, Kgaogelo MamaboloThe WPN Gauteng members were invited to nominate individuals in the Property Sector who are based in Gauteng, had made a significant contribution to the Sector in 2013 and is recognised and respected by her peers.

The 2013 Recognition Awards were awarded to:

Kgaogelo Mamabolo 

Kgaogelo has embodied enthusiasm for knowledge, service and how to give back to the Property Industry in abundance. During the current year, KG has served the industry and country through ‘national service’. She was seconded to the Department of Public Works to assist them with creating a strategy and business case for improving how they serve the property industry.

This she did whilst she continued to play a key role as an Asset manager for South Africa’s largest, prime retail assets in Sandton.

Kgaogelo was recently appointed an Asset Manager for the STANLIB Africa Direct Property Development Fund.

Lee-Anne Bac

Lee-Anne is a director at Grant Thornton heading up the property and construction sector. She is an expert in her field with extensive experience in property and management consulting for both the public and private sector.

Lee-Anne has been regularly quoted in the press, interviewed on a number of radio stations and television networks, presented at industry functions and a guest lecturer at some of South Africa’s top universities and business schools. 

In 2013 Lee-Anne was invited to represent South Africa at the Africa Hotel Investment Forum (AHIF) held in Kenya on the impact of Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs).

Nonku Ntshona

Nonku is the founder of NNAQS, a women owned and managed quantity surveying firm. Nonku has excelled as an entrepreneur having secured clients such as: ACSA, Anglo Platinum, Billion Group, Eris Properties, Liberty Properties and Pareto. She has received several awards. 

NNAQS was nominated (one of 3 SA companies) to attend the annual International Women’s Entrepreneurial Challenge conference and awards ceremony to be hosted by the Lima Chamber of Commerce in Peru from the 10th to 13th of November. IWEC is a project born of the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce to facilitate access to international markets.

Fundi Mazibuko

Fundi has been in the property industry for over a decade having had roles at the Joburg Property Company, Mdantsane City in the Eastern Cape, Westgate Shopping Centre in Johannesburg and Ikeja Mall in Lagos, Nigeria.

Fundi has also enjoyed a successful career as a human resources practitioner, including launching a recruitment company specialising in the property sector. She has also served WPN as Gauteng Chapter’s Chair. Fundi was recently appointed an Executive Director at Excellerate Property Services.
