In 2007 developers Zenprop Property Holdings (Pty) Ltd acquired the rights to develop the shopping centre on the 21ha site adjacent to the Black Rock Casino and Hotel, on the corner of Oak Avenue and the Ladysmith Road and within close proximity to the intersection with the N11. Ground works on this R400m development commenced in January 2011, and with construction progressing well and largely ahead of schedule.
Newcastle Mall offers 94 stores spanning 38 000m2 of air-conditioned retail space.
