FOLLOWING the unveiling of plans to extend, convert and modernise Ashley Cooper House on the corner of Main Road and Dean Street in Newlands, Ellen Friedman, a broker with Rawson Commercial, said they had signed up the oldest Spur outlet in the country, the Golden Spur, to take a full 500m2 on the top floor once renovations were complete. The Golden Spur, which will be moving from its former Dean Street premises later this month, is run by Johan van der Merwe with Ian Fourie as manager. Van der Merwe said the move would enable him not only to make the Spur internal premises a great deal more attractive, but would also give his customers considerable additional parking. He said the new building would have seating for 270 guests and would therefore be considerably bigger than the current building. Rawson Property Group chairman Bill Rawson said the long lease would have a capital value of R5 million. For further information please contact Ellen Friedman on 084 307 8724.
