Increasing demand for health and wellness services is driving sales of property at The Quadrant in Cape Town’s Southern Suburbs

The Quadrant precinct which is situated in leafy Claremont is a mixed used development which borders the well-known Kingsbury and Claremont Hospitals. It has become home to 25 medical practitioners as well as the Cape Fertility Clinic, Peninsula Eye Clinic, The Fetal Assessment Centre and The Chrysalis Clinic.

The development also sports a new Wellness Centre located adjacent to its private gym and heated pool complex which has become home to physical rehabilitation professionals including physiotherapists, sports therapists, biokineticists and dieticians.

Gary Moore, director of Corevest - the property developer - says the vision for the Quadrant was to create a convenient hub for professionals to live and work in as well as to relax.

“It is wonderful to see how it has now become the prime choice for health and wellness practitioners as well as home to medical professionals who working here or at the nearby hospitals.

“Living here allows a quick walk to and from work and the development provides added convenience  of a full gym, well stocked library, hair salon, Thai spa and restaurants as part of the mix.”

Bev Bloch, Pam Golding Properties Southern Suburbs Development Executive says tough times in global financial markets has made investing in property far more than “just a place to stay”.

“Given the tightening up of the market and comparative values of available new developments in other areas, the Cape’s Southern Suburbs lifestyle stacks up really well and holds a great deal of appeal.

“We have found the global recession has underscored a trend among buyers to seek far greater value for their money. Location and the kind of living an area offers have become very important factors for buyers’ when weighing up purchasing decisions.

“Adding to the increased expectations of those looking to buy property in a development is the fast paced lifestyles of professional people, especially those in the medical and associated industries.

“They are looking for convenience as well as long term value in terms of the overall design and features. The Quadrant has a superb layout with wide open courtyards and great public space as well as top notch security and superb fittings and finishes.

“When one compares the Quadrant – which is very well priced from R975 000 for a bachelor pad to R1,2-m for a 1-bedroom unit up to R3,2-m for a penthouse to other developments currently on offer – it’s a very good buy.

She says when one tracks property investments through all its highs and troughs – its easy to see how developments that offer great location and lifestyle opportunities – best withstand property’s cyclical impact.

“It is all about buying position and convenience in today’s market. The Quadrant offers easy access to shopping centres, public transport, sport and entertainment facilities as well some of the city’s top schools, university and hospitals.”
