The Regus business centre in Midrand continues to be a barometer of corporate activity in the area – experiencing continuous high demand for its facilities and services.

The centre, which provides fully-furnished and equipped offices, meeting rooms and videoconferencing studios, is being heavily utilised by the multinational companies which are its business neighbours in Midrand, as well as new companies that need to be operational in the shortest possible time.

'The advantage of the centre for both types of client,' says Kevin Rawnsley, CE of Regus in SA, is that they can occupy as much or as little workspace as they need, for as long or as short a period as they choose, without incurring any set-up costs.'

'The multinationals, many of which have chosen a Midrand location, are generally already familiar with the services offered by Regus, since it is also a global company,' says Rawnsley. 'Consequently, they frequently book space for meetings, training sessions, visiting executives and special project teams.

'But the 'instant-office, instant-business' concept is also gaining currency among new businesses, and especially information technology and service companies. Of course, many of these are attracted to Midrand because it offers them one of the highest concentrations of potential corporate customers in the country.'

Companies of all sizes and types are also increasingly aware of the gains to be made by hiring workspace in a business centre, instead of leasing it in the conventional way.

In the first place, they save set-up and exit costs, which frees up money for marketing and the generation of income. In the second, they save the management time that would otherwise be spent on locating, setting up and organising corporate premises. In a Regus centre, everything is already in place so clients can literally just walk in and work.

“What is more, all Regus facilities and services are provided on totally flexible terms, which frees clients to upsize or downsize as required, and to open new branches or even relocate virtually instantly in response to new market opportunities.”
