Located across the road from Pretoria Country Club - where The Club draws inspiration for its name - this development is positioned in one of Pretoria's prime areas with good proximity to the exclusive suburbs of Waterkloof and Brooklyn.
“The R550-million The Club development is destined to become a well-known retail and office node and enviable landmark, on a par with the top mixed-use precincts South Africa has to offer,” says CEO of Atterbury Group Louis van der Watt.
Ideally situated in Hazelwood, adjacent to Dely Road, The Club’s proximity to the new Garsfontein off-ramp ensures easy access to the N1 motorway. In addition, Hatfield, Menlyn, Pretoria CBD and Brooklyn are all within less than a 10-minute drive.
Atterbury is undertaking the development of The Club in four phases, targeted for completion by 2013.
The first phase comprises almost 5,000sqm prime A-grade office building with three floors of inspirational workspace covering some 4,200sqm gross lettable area, punctuated by airy double-volume areas. The exceptional offices at The Club are due for completion this month (August 2011).
Trendy ground-floor retail spans some 800sqm, and will host chic restaurants including the popular Café 41, all scheduled to open at The Club in September 2011.
The second phase will see Atterbury develop a similar mixed-use building comprising of offices and restaurants, extending the concept and energy of the first phase.
A total refurbishment of the existing office building on the site will take the development into phase three. Atterbury will not only make the building better by modernising it in line with the entire development, but it will also be making it bigger. An additional floor will be added to the building and, at the same time, open atriums will be created to bring natural light into the building.
The final phase includes the ambitious full-redevelopment of the existing The Club Shopping Centre into an 8,400sqm attractive high-end shopping centre.
“Retailers will be carefully selected to ensure the ideal tenant mix for this exclusive shopping destination. We envisage this to include a leading food anchor as well as premier fashion retailers,” says van der Watt.
