Merchant & Industrial Properties and Marshall Monteagle said on Thursday that both companies had entered into discussions which, if successfully concluded, might have a material effect on their share prices.

"Accordingly, shareholders of both companies are advised to exercise caution when dealing in their shares until a further announcement is made," the companies said in joint statement.
