Redefine International announced on Tuesday that Hans Enderle, the founder and former chairman of City Lodge Hotels, had acquired about 11% of its hotel investment portfolio, Redefine International Hotels.
Redefine recently acquired five Holiday Inn-branded hotels in London for a purchase price of about £112 million.
These hotels are managed by the group under the direction of Helder Pereira, former MD of Southern Sun Hotels, who recently relocated to Europe and took up the position of CE of Redefine International Hotels.
Enderle will be appointed to the board of both the hotel-owning and management companies.
Enderle said he was excited to join the Redefine team in the UK, "especially as Pereira is heading up the Redefine International Hotels management operations".
Stephen Carlin, the chairman of Redefine International Hotels, said the company was delighted to welcome Enderle as a partner in its international hotel business.
"The London hotel market is performing exceptionally well. The royal wedding in April and the Olympic Games in 2012 will help maintain its place as a popular destination," Carlin said.
