The 75,000sqm Mall of the North shopping centre in Polokwane, with its 180 new shops offering a wide selection of leading brands and fashion, is expected to draw shoppers from across the province and further afield

With only a few months left until the opening of Mall of the North, Limpopo’s single largest property investment, consumers can look forward to a greatly enhanced shopping diversity in 2011.

The Mall of the North is owned and developed by JSE-listed company Resilient Property Income Fund, Flanagan & Gerard Property Development and Investment and Moolman Group.

“In 2011 a whole new retail realm will be unveiled to the province with the opening of Mall of the North,” says Patrick Flanagan of Flanagan & Gerard.  “The new super-regional shopping centre will open up the finest in dining, shopping and entertainment.”

Mall of the North will provide a comprehensive retail offering, and will also house many retailers that will be making their debut in the province. “Shoppers will no longer have to travel outside the province to experience world-class shopping. It will all be right here and under a single roof,” notes Jannie Moolman of the Moolman Group.

Johann Kriek, executive director of Resilient, explains that “in addition to an impressive variety of top retailers, the shopping centre will also bring economic growth and job creation to the province. The new year is set to usher in a dawn of rapid growth and prosperity to the city of Polokwane.”

From travel, fashion and leisure to jewellery and home décor – Mall of the North will cater for every festive season need.

Lovers of fine clothing and top fashion can look forward to leading international labels and personalised boutiques including Fashion World, Milady’s, Truworths, Fashion Express, Poetry, Foschini, Markhams, Guess, Timberland, Mr Price, Forever New and Sport Scene, amongst others.

An unmatched variety of gadgets and technology will be available at specialised stores Incredible Connection, Audio Corporation, PC Worx and Dion Wired.

For anything from beautiful gold jewellery to costume pieces and other accessories, shoppers will be able to find it all at Arthur Kaplan, Galaxy Jewellers, Sterns, Sass Diva, Funky Fish, Debbie Mouton Jewellers and more.

Planning for the perfect holiday will be made simple with Flight Centre, Travelex and Harvey World Travel.

Stylish home décor with @Home, Boardmans, Coricraft and Mr Price Home will create the perfect holiday atmosphere in any home.

Top eateries such as Primi Piatti, Ocean Basket, Spur, Mugg & Bean, Wimpy, Cinnabon, Nino’s and Maxis and the new 996 seater Ster Kinekor cinema complex with six screens - one of which will be a 3D screen - will bring unmatched entertainment and leisure to the province.

Anchor tenants include two supermarkets which are in excess of 5,000sqm, Pick n Pay and Checkers, joined by Edgars, Woolworths and Game.  Other top amenities include banking facilities, health and beauty stores, cellular stores and other speciality retailers.

Situated in the highly accessible area of Bendor on the junction of the N1 (eastern bypass of Polokwane) and the R81 Modjajiskloof (Duiwelskloof) Road, the shopping mall will provide easy access from the N1, with close proximity to national and provincial roads.  One of the major highlights of the mall’s opening is the unveiling of first time retailers in the province.

Mall of the North is set to open on Thursday, 14 April 2011.
