MidCity Properties announced the purchase of Yellow Button Property Management (Pretoria) effective 1 March 2003.  The company will in future be known as MIDCITY PROPERTY SERVICES (Pty) Ltd, resulting in the largest property management company in Pretoria.  The company will in total manage over 250 residential and commercial buildings, with a property value in excess of R 4 billion. 

MidCity is a wholly owned subsidiary of the TILCA group of companies, and ABSA, in turn, has a 40% share in the TILCA group.  TILCA specialises in the establishment and management of infrastructure, which includes property and facility management.  Yellow Button (Pretoria) was previously part of the listed Jigsaw Group.  The acquisition of Yellow Button also includes their Cape Town office.

Mr Dawie de Villiers (MD) will be supported by a strong group of directors in the new company, which consists of:  Mr. Des Reed, Ms Marlene van Vuuren and Mr. Coenie Bezuidenhout (existing MidCity directors), Mr. David Hewer (ex-Yellow Button) and two directors from the TILCA Holding company, namely Mr. Ernest Hosking (CEO TILCA) en Mr. Mattheus Maritz (FD TILCA).

MidCity, which was established in 1983 as a one man concern with Mr Dawie de Villiers and a secretary in a single office, celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.  Yellow Button Pretoria, originally from the EG Chapman Property Management stable, is also supported by over 20 years experience in the industry in Pretoria.  These two companies are well established names in the property industry in Pretoria, and they would like to assure their clients that a larger and stronger company will be able to provide a more effective management service.
