The utilisation of production capacity by large manufacturers was 77,4% in August 2009, compared to 84,9% in August 2008

The utilisation of production capacity by large manufacturers of 77,4% in August 2009 was 0,4 of a percentage point lower than the 77,8% reported for May 2009.

All of the manufacturing divisions showed decreases in utilisation of production capacity for August 2009 compared to August 2008.

The biggest decrease was reported in the motor vehicles, parts, accessories and other transport equipment division (-15,2 percentage points), followed by the basic iron and steel, non-ferrous metal products, metal products and machinery division (-9,0 percentage points), the furniture and ‘other’ manufacturing division (-8,4 percentage points) and the glass and non-metallic mineral products division (-7,8 percentage points).
