STANLIB, through its subsidiary Standard Bank Unit Trusts Limited, has introduced a multi-manager property
fund to compliment its range.
The new fund, Standard Bank Multi-Manager Property Fund is aimed at investors who are looking for a property fund managed according to the multi manager investment philosophy. The fund has a moderate risk profile.
According to Busisa Jiya, director of multi-manager investments at STANLIB Wealth Management, a multi-manager approach to a property fund covers the many aspects and areas of property funds.
'A multi manager approach ensures that in one fund investors are exposed to various styles and benefit from this diversified approach.'
Specialist property asset managers are selected after an in depth assessment of the fund manager's investment process and the quality of the organisation.
Skillful managers with complementary investment styles are combined to control the impact of unintended emphasis on one particular investment management style.
'Property is an important asset class and should form part of a balanced investment portfolio. Today's investor is more discerning and looking for both balanced and diversified investments. Property, which has traditionally managed to provide real returns over the longer term and does not always move in tandem with other asset classes, fulfills many of these needs,' Jiya says.
