Keen interest in factories, warehouse

A factory and warehouse in Benoni was the centre of attraction at the Bidline property auction in Sandton yesterday, where keen bidding pushed the hammer price to R17m.










The factory, with a gross lettable area of 5 net lease. The building, on a 7900m² erf, has a lettable area of 4630m² and a gross income of R1,44m a year.

Not quite in the same class, but attracting good bidding nevertheless, was a factory with offices on Rotterdam Road, Apex, Benoni, which fetched R2,4m.

Of special interest was a block of flats in Berea, not a regular features at auctions, that attracted a hammer price of R3,2m.

Other lots included three industrial stands in Kirkney, Pretoria, (R1,9m) and 50ha of vacant land in Eikenhof, next to the Eye of Africa Golf Estate, that received a knock-down price of R4,5m.
