Plans to develop a massive mixed-use precinct at Lanseria International Airport, known as Cradle City, were recently unveiled by SASSI whose new Stor-Age (West Rand) facility will be situated within the new city's precinct

Cradle City, expected to be at least three times the size of the Sandton central business district, will comprise of approximately 10 million m² of development bulk at an estimated value of R35bn on completion. The development will be the biggest single property development ever earmarked for JHB with the first of six phases set to commence in May 2009. Commenting on the news, Gavin Lucas, CEO of the SASSI Self Storage Group, said; ‘This is fantastic news for SASSI and our investment partners in the new West Rand facility.
