Sharp losses (45.1%) occured for GPR 250 (global listed property)Index in 2008

Despite a 7.7% gain in December 2008, the GPR 250 Index lost 45.1% in 2007. At continental level, the annual returns ranged from +1.5% for Africa to -52.8% for Oceania.

At country level, South Africa (+1.5%) ranked top spot, whereas Norway (Norwegian Property; -90.3%) finished last. In the fourth quarter, the global listed property sector lost 31.6% with below the Q4 2008 total return performances and 2008 total return performances for the GPR 250 Index and its continental subset indices.
