SA Retail Industry Recognised

The winners of the second annual SA Council of Shopping Centre's Spectrum Awards were announced last night at a ceremony in Gauteng

Julie HillaryThe four awards are sponsored by Nedbank Corporate Property Finance and seek to honour achievements in innovation, creativity, vision and excellence across all disciplines and all sectors within the South African retail industry.

The winners are:
•         National Retailer of the Year Award 2008 – Francarlo Jewellers, Walmer Park
•         National Service Provider of the Year Award 2008 – Enforce Security Services, Gateway Theatre of Shopping
•         Retail Design & Development Award 2008 – Irene Village Mall, Irene
•         Shopping Centre Marketing Award 2008 – Gateway Theatre of Shopping

The winners of the National Retailer of the Year Award and the National Service Provider of the Year Award were recognised for providing exceptional levels of customer service, thereby contributing positively towards South Africa’s shopping centre industry.

The Retail Design & Development Award (RDDA) acknowledges exceptional shopping centre design and economic successes of projects within the South African property industry of both new shopping centres and for the renovation and/or expansion of existing centres.

The Shopping Centre Marketing Award (Footprint) honours shopping centre marketing excellence that combine teamwork, creativity, accurate objectives and measurement tools, strategic focus and, most importantly, a passion to inspire to the benefit of the consumer, the tenant, the owner and society at large.  To be ahead of the game is the essence that provides the competitive advantage and as such the Footprint Marketing Award has been developed to acknowledge the success of the marketing strategies that have achieved the desired result.
