Fountains Mall is aiming to become the leading retail and entertainment centre for Eastern Cape’s Couga region.

UPON opening its doors on October 23, Fountains Mall is aiming to become the leading retail and entertainment centre for Eastern Cape’s Couga region.

The mall is aimed at being a top weekend tourist destination and a pioneer for convenience shopping. It will provide top brands from both the local and international markets.

The Fountains Mall, just off the N2 en route to Jeffreys Bay, will house more than 100 stores. Anchor tenants include Edgar’s, Woolworths, Game and Pick n Pay. The centre will provide more than 400 permanent jobs and numerous more part-time positions.

Marketing manager Jiminy-Ann Bosman said a large percentage of local shopping “is leaking out of the area and being spent in other centres as far a field as Port Elizabeth”.

Bosman said the mall would help to revitalise the town, particularly in the tourist off season.
